What Is Blockchain? Explained Simply in Plain English
Everyone says blockchain will change the world. Almost no one can explain what it actually is.
What this covers
So here it is, in plain English. A blockchain is just a shared record book. But instead of one company holding it, thousands of computers each hold an identical copy.
Every new page of records is a block, chained to the one before it. That is why it is called a blockchain. Once a block is added, changing it would break the chain on thousands of computers at once.
So the record cannot be secretly rewritten. No single boss decides what is true. The network agrees together.
That agreement is what makes it trustworthy. That is blockchain. A shared, locked, honest record that no one can fake.
Everything else is built on that one idea. Keep learning, the smart way.
